GOLD RUSH RUN Driving Event

The GOLD RUSH RUN, yes that’s what I’m calling our driving event for July . Our plan is to meet up at the Starbucks Coffee shop located at 6099 Horseshoe Bar Rd Loomis in the Raley’s shopping center. On Sat, 7/15 we’ll meet at 7:30 and leave at 8:00.

I plan to take some of the back roads up to Auburn and then up Hwy 49 through Nevada City and arriving at the Kentucky Mine outside of Sierra City. Our drive will take about two hours. Be sure to prepare for a non-stop drive. At the mine we have the opportunity to tour the site, visit their museum and see their historic stamp mill in operation. Admission is $5 for the museum and $10 for the mine & mill tour per adult.

After our mine activities we’ll head over a ways for some lunch and friendly get together. To complete our trip we’ll do some more scenic driving up to Truckee and then whiz down I-80 on our way home.

This should be a full day of spirited driving in our trusty ‘Stangs, taking in some interesting California history, and enjoying some great food and friends.
